The Coastal Zone Foundation (CZF), in cooperation with the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) announces the Call for Abstracts for the 2020 National Coastal Conference, October 13- October 16, 2020, which will be held through an online platform. The conference will be offered as a blend of synchronous and asynchronous on-line presentations, lightning talks, networking events, virtual breakout sessions, and more. The new online format is meant to address the COVID-19 related safety measures and travel restrictions, providing an alternate format for the coastal community to gather and discuss key topics. Professional Development House will also be available for full registrants.
The Coastal Zone Foundation’s mission is to promote rigorous research and collaboration across multiple disciplines to restore, protect and manage the coastal zone via sustainable public policy supported by sound science, planning, and engineering.
The theme of the 2020 conference, “2020 Vision for Our Coasts: Navigating Stormy Times” will reflect how beach and coastal communities are dealing with the unique challenges presented this year by the coronavirus pandemic, but will also look at how coastlines and communities can be resilient to current and future physical and economic challenges.
Presentations or posters are invited for a broad range of technical, science, engineering, economics, coastal management, hazard risk management and policy topics. Specific topics include, but are not limited to:

Presentations may be PowerPoint or poster format. Abstracts for oral presentations (up to 500 words) are due by June 12, 2020. Poster presentations will be accepted through August 21, 2020.
