Fort Myers, FL –
The Coastal Zone Foundation (CZF) is pleased to announce that Jennifer Perez has earned the designation of Certified Coastal Practitioner™ (CCP) professional credential.
Earning the CCP designation distinguishes Perez as having a broad knowledge base and understanding of the interrelationships that exist among different coastal professions.
Perez is a Special Projects Designer with the City of Key West Engineering Department. She supports municipal infrastructure, ADA accessibility improvements, coastal projects, and public works initiatives throughout the city. Her CCP designation adds to her background as an ADDA Certified Mechanical Drafter and her experience in engineering design, project coordination, and coastal resilience efforts.
“I’m excited to earn my Certified Coastal Practitioner designation and continue learning about Florida’s coastal resources,” said Perez. “I look forward to using this knowledge to help support future coastal and infrastructure projects for the City of Key West.”
To earn the CCP credential, candidates must complete a series of 10 courses offered by the Coastal Zone Foundation in cooperation with the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA). The CCP program provides participants with multidisciplinary instruction on comprehensive coastal management and defines the body of knowledge, which reflects best practices for coastal practitioners. To date, 53 coastal professionals have earned this certification, which is in force for five years after completion.
The Coastal Zone Foundation was formed in 1984 with the purpose of advancing scientific and related engineering and planning knowledge. Visit coastalzonefoundation.org to learn more about the certification.
